Investment & Funding

What Determines Your Project Cost

Synthetic turf projects range from $18,000 for a residential court to $4M+ for a full athletic complex. Here are the factors that drive cost — and how grant funding can offset a significant portion.

01

Field Size & Configuration

A full-size football field runs 57,600 sq ft. Soccer fields vary significantly. Multi-sport configurations with removable lines add design complexity but reduce per-use cost long-term.

02

Base & Drainage System

Florida's soil and water table often require engineered base systems. The base is where corners get cut on cheap installations — and where failures start. We never compromise on this.

03

Fiber & Infill Specification

Minimum Florida DEP spec is 75oz face weight. Higher-performance systems for collegiate or professional use run 80-100oz. Infill type (crumb rubber, organic, sand) affects performance and cost.

Our Process

How We Build a Synthetic Turf Field

Every project follows the same 5-step process. You have a named contact throughout — not a call center, not a rotating project manager.

FAQ

Got Questions?

We get it — building a sports facility is a big investment. Here are the answers our clients ask most.

Talk to Our Team

How long does a synthetic turf field last?

A properly installed synthetic turf field typically lasts 8-12 years before fiber replacement is needed. The base and drainage system, if built correctly, can last 25+ years. Florida DEP now requires a minimum 8-year fade warranty on all new installations.

Does synthetic turf get too hot to use in Florida?

Surface temperatures can reach 150-180°F in direct summer sun. We address this through infill selection (organic infill runs 20-30° cooler than crumb rubber) and by specifying UV-stabilized fiber grades. Cooling systems are available for high-use facilities.

Do we need a licensed contractor for synthetic turf in Florida?

Yes. Florida DEP Chapter 62-308.100 (finalized 2024) requires a licensed General Contractor for all synthetic turf installations. We hold CBC1268683. Installations by unlicensed contractors are non-compliant and can create liability exposure for the facility owner.

Can we get grant funding for our turf field?

Public parks, schools, and municipalities in Florida may qualify for FRDAP (Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program) and Field Surface Grant funding. These programs can cover 50-80% of eligible project costs. We manage the entire application process.

How long does installation take?

A full-size athletic field typically takes 3-6 weeks from groundbreak to final walkthrough, depending on base remediation requirements. Residential courts run 5-10 days. Weather delays in Florida are factored into every schedule we produce.
